Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa (FMCSA) Bursaries

Each year,  Ford bursaries will be granted to students who wish to pursue studies within the fields of Finance, Marketing, Purchasing, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Information Technology. Bursary students also have the chance to join the Graduate Trainee Program once they graduated.

FMCSA Bursary Requirements and Eligibility

  • Citizen of South Africa
  • Students who are in their final year of study
  • Excellent academic performance

  1. Download and complete the FMCSA Ford Bursary Application Form (pdf)
  2. Supporting Documents (file sizes exceeding 1mb will be rejected):
    • Curriculum Vitae
    • Copy of latest full academic record
    • Copy of ID
  3. Submit application forms and supporting documents to with the following subject lines:
    • Bursary – Finance
    • Bursary – Marketing
    • Bursary – Purchasing
    • Bursary – Industrial Engineering
    • Bursary – Mechanical Engineering
    • Bursary – Information Technology


Closing Date

None. Open annually.

Bursary applications can be submitted throughout the year, as this bursary does not have an appointed time of closing date.

    Hi Albertina, I would recommend putting together some of the basic information required for bursaries – including proof of family income, a brief cover letter as to why Tshego is looking to study Mechanical Engineering – why that field of study instead of any other, what interests her about Mechanical Engineering and what she would like to achieve, and a CV as well to document her academic studies so far. Once you have this information ready I would recommend as a starting point to look at all the bursaries available here: and start completing application forms – new ones are added and updated weekly. It can seem like a long process but the more you apply for the easier it will become. Let me know if you have any more specific questions!
