Afrimat Nkomati Anthracite Bursary 2023

Afrimat, Nkomati Anthracite, Mpumalanga invites applications from students for their bursary program for the academic year 2023. The bursaries are applicable to students registered to study for the upcoming  academic year in any one of the fields listed below:

  • Mining Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering

Afrimat will give preference to candidates belonging to Matsamo, Mawewe, and Lugedlane communities. For the selection process, shortlisted applicants must submit stamped proof of residence from their respective Tribal Office.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the Afrimat Nkomati Anthracite Bursary, students must abide by the following criteria:

  • Must be a citizen of South Africa
  • Must be registered to study at any of the accredited and recognized Universities or TVET colleges in South Africa
  • Submit the proof of registration for the current academic year
  • Only HDI’s applicants
  • Must submit the academic record and have at least a 60% average
  • Candidate must be medically fit according to the company standards for medical fitness and Mine Health and Safety Act standards.
  • Female candidates will get more preference.

Note: Applications from students belonging to historically underprivileged backgrounds and designated groups will be prioritized. This is to comply with the company’s commitment to diversify its workforce and Employment Equity.
