About the Canon Collins Trust and Sol Plaatje Educational Project collaboration

The Canon Collins Trust was founded in Britain in 1981 in acknowledgement of the Treason Trial of 1956 held in South Africa and organisations that collaborated to give 156 defendants, all leaders of the ANC, funding for their legal defence.

The Sol Plaatje Educational Project is a non-profit organisation (NPO) named after famous anti-apartheid activist Sol Plaatje. It promotes education as a means of creating equal opportunities for all. Together, these organisations offer postgraduate scholarships to citizens of South Africa, Namibia, and Zimbabwe. The fields these scholarships cover include justice, education, and humanities to students who graduated with a minimum second-class undergraduate degree in one of these specified areas.
