Coverage
The bursary coverage will depend on the student’s family income. Students falling within the “missing middle” bracket (i.e., those whose income falls between R350,000 and R600,000) will receive more substantial assistance, while NSFAS-eligible students (i.e., those with income below R350,000) will receive partial support.
Students categorized as part of the “missing middle” will be granted complete coverage for the subsequent expenditures: accommodation, tuition expenses, registration fees, study materials, and an allowance for laptops, particularly for first-year students. Additionally, bursary recipients will have access to mentorship, meal support, tutoring, and mental health assistance.
Qualified students receiving NSFAS funding will be entitled to full coverage for a range of expenses. This encompasses registration fees and an array of non-financial support services, such as mentorship, mental health assistance, and academic guidance.
This extensive bursary program has been established to support young, ambitious students in pursuing their academic and career aspirations. As a part of EEDF’s commitment to fostering future leaders, the selected candidate will be expected to participate in various volunteer activities, including mentorship.
