Henley Africa Business School is one of the leading business schools in South Africa. It is part of the prestigious Henley Business School in England, one of the oldest business schools in the world.

Henley Africa Sol Plaatje Media Scholarship

Henley Africa has various scholarship programmes in place to encourage students to take up business-related courses. Henley Africa Sol Plaatje Media Scholarship is one of them. Named after renowned South African journalist intellectual and founder of the African National Congress, Sol Plaatje, it is meant for current journalists who want to take up an MBA at Henley Africa.

The programme was launched in 2019. In the inaugural edition, the two recipients were Pauli van Wyk, an investigative journalist, and Thabiso Thakali, the executive editor at Sowetan.

For the academic session, Henley Africa is inviting crusading and fearless journalists to apply for the scholarship programme. The recipients will get to pursue education on campus and graduate with a prestigious executive MBA degree from Henley.

Students will learn unique approaches and methodologies of modern journalism during the course. It will help them evolve and grow as a journalist.

Shortlisted candidates will get more information regarding the scholarship programme. If you do not receive any communication within a few days or a week of the closing date, consider your application unsuccessful.

Eligibility Criteria For The Scholarship

There are a limited number of scholarships on offer. To select the most deserving candidates, Henley Africa has a few eligibility criteria in place. Anyone applying for the scholarship must fulfill these.

The eligibility requirements for the Henley Africa Sol Plaatje Media Scholarship are:

  • South African citizen
  • Journalist by profession
  • In possession of a journalist qualification issued by an accredited university
  • Must have a strong work ethic as a journalist
  • Fulfill all the eligibility criteria of the Executive MBA programme at Henley
