About Beast Foundation and ETA College
The Beast Foundation is a non-profit foundation that works towards developing the next generation of African leaders through sports, education, and life skills. Founded by Tendai Mtawarira, a Zimbabwean rugby player popularly known as “The Beast” in 2020, the foundation provides necessary support to those who want to make a career in sports.
Beast Foundation has collaborated partnered up with ETA College to make things happen. ETA College is an educational institution that offers programmes in the sports and fitness industry. The programmes are registered on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF).
Currently, the college has both national and international campuses and offers classroom and virtual learning programmes.
The Beast Foundation & ETA Scholarship 2022
The foundation aims to help budding sportsperson who want to take up sports professionally by offering financial assistance. For the academic year 2022, the scholarships will only be offered to female students. It was announced on the eve of International Day of the Girl Child. They should be pursuing an undergraduate sports qualification at any of the ETA campuses.
There are a total of two scholarships valued at R393,000. The funds will go towards covering the registration fees and tuition fees. Students are expected to cover other expenses like accommodation and textbooks.
The scholarships will be awarded on merit. Female students who have a strong track record and have the potential to make it big are considered meritorious.
Eligibility Criteria
To select female students for the scholarship programme, the Beast Foundation has laid out specific eligibility criteria. Anyone applying for coverage should fulfill all the criteria. Failing to do so will result in cancellation of your application.
Here are the eligibility requirements for the Beast Foundation and ETA scholarships:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must be a female
- Must be either currently in Matric or have completed Matriculation
- Must have studied at a school accredited by the Department of Basic Education (DBE)
- Must be willing to pursue a 3-year undergraduate qualification in the field of sports
- Must be studying or willing to study at one of the ETA campuses from 2020 onwards
- Must fulfill all the requisites of the educational programme that you want to pursue at ETA College
- Must be interested and have a strong passion for the sports industry
- Must not be related to anyone working at The Beast Foundation or the ETA College
Fulfilling all the criteria, however, doesn’t guarantee funding. There are only two scholarships on offer, and the number of applications will outnumber it. Therefore, only those that are best of the best will be getting the scholarship funding. The list published by The Beast Foundation will be considered final.
How to Apply?
If you fulfill all the eligibility requirements, move forward with the application process and apply for the scholarship. It’s a short process that shouldn’t take more than an hour to complete. But it’s important to pay attention to details and not rush through it. Incomplete or incorrect submissions are rejected without further consideration, and you may miss out on the opportunity. Here are the steps involved in applying for The Beast Foundation & ETA Scholarship 2022:
The first step is to download the official Beast Foundation & ETA College application form. You can download it by sending a request to ETA College’s official WhatsApp line at ”066 476 0739″. They will send you the application form within a few minutes (it may take longer under some circumstances).
Complete the application form on a Word Processor or PDF editor and answer all the relevant questions. Don’t leave anything out unless otherwise stated.
Documents Required
The next step is to prepare and submit the documents necessary for this scholarship. These will be used for verification purposes and processing your application. The list of documents you’d have to prepare are:
- ID documents or unabridged birth certificate
- Matric results, if pursuing Matriculation
- Matric certificate, if completed Matric
- Recent academic records
- A 300-word motivational letter explaining what you deserve the scholarship
- Letter of recommendation from a teacher, coach, or principal
- ID documents of parents or guardians
Only prepare certified copies. Finally, mail the documents and your application to “scholarships@thebeastfoundation.org.” In the subject line, insert “TBF/ETAX2F2021,” which is the reference number.
