About Ikatisong School of Governance

The aim of the Ikatisong School of Governance (ISOG) is to work towards the empowerment of the youth by creating employment opportunities for them. It works on different youth development programmes along with its strategic partners from various private sectors and the Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA) of the related field.

The North West Provincial Government is focusing on skill enhancement and training of the youth in various strategic sectors inside the North West Province. Different sectors like mining, agriculture, tourism, development of artisans, are all covered under this youth development programme. The North West Provincial Government runs all these programmes for the economic empowerment of youth through the Ikatisong School of Governance (ISOG).

As a department of the South African Government, the North West Provincial Government is responsible for the growth and development of the residents living in the province through various youth development programmes. The Victor Thebe Sifora Provincial Bursary 2023 is offered to the students by the North West Provincial Government Office of the Premier. This bursary is offered to students studying in the following fields under different departments:

Eligibility Criteria

If you are a student and applying for the Victor Thebe Sifora Provincial Bursary 2023, then you have to fulfil certain eligibility criteria. In case you miss any of the criteria mentioned below then your bursary application will not be considered. The eligibility criteria are:

  • You should be a South African Citizen
  • You must be a resident of the North West Province
  • You should be either in Matric or have completed your Matric
  • You must be studying or wish to study full-time in any of the fields listed above as an undergraduate in the year 2023
  • You should be studying or plan to study in an authorized and recognized tertiary public institution in South Africa (application to a private institution will only be considered and funded in exceptional cases)
  • You need to have a very good academic record
  • Student with a weak financial background is preferred for the bursary

You need to fill out the application for the Victor Thebe Sifora Provincial Bursary 2023 online here.

Documents Required

There are certain documents that you need to submit along with the bursary application. Your application will not be considered as completed in absence of any of the following documents and will be rejected. The required documents are:

  • ID-related document (certified copy)
  • Certified copy of the final result of NSC/Matric (it should be submitted maximum by 7 January 2023)
  • In case you are studying then you need to submit a certified copy of your final results or the latest academic results
  • Certified copy of the acceptance letter from the university if you have applied for admission
  • Income proof of parents/guardians which should be the latest payslips if employed, affidavit if unemployed, pension statement if availing any government pension and death certificate required if deceased
  • Residence proof is required which should be a letter issued by municipality offices if you are a resident of a town, township or stay on a farm/ in case residing in a village letter from Traditional Authority Offices
  • In case the applicant is disabled, proof of disability should be submitted which can be either some medical record or doctors letter

Closing Date

The closing date for the submission of the application is 30 November 2022.
