List of All Public TVET Colleges that NSFAS Fund

A TVET, Technical and Vocational Education and Training, college is an internationally recognised term that is given to an education institution that is involved the study of technologies and related sciences in the acquisition of practical skills, attitudes, understanding and knowledge relating to professional occupations.

TVET colleges were introduced to South Africa in 2012 and there are now 50 TVET colleges across South Africa. All of the previously existing FET (Further Education Training) colleges changed their names to TVET colleges under the management of the DHET (Department of Higher Education and Training). Prospective college students can receive their skills-focussed National Certificate Vocational by completing skills training programmes at these college campuses.

Which Colleges offer NSFAS?

The University is not only an option for furthering your education in South Africa. You can further your studies at The Department of Higher Education and Training views Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Colleges as institutions of Choice. NSFAS funding will be available for African citizens studying at one of 50 TVET Colleges or 25 public universities. Private colleges are unfortunately not available for financial assistance from NSFAS. Remember you will need proof that your combined household income is below R350 000 per annum if you want NSFAS to help cover the cost of your tuition fee.

• Ekurhuleni East TVET College

Ekurhuleni East TVET College (EEC) is located in five towns of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM). These are: Springs, Kwa-Thema, Daveyton, Benoni and Brakpan.
