FSCA Bursary for Students with Disabilities
The FSCA Bursary for Students with Disabilities is a full-cost bursary run directly by the Financial Sector Conduct Authority, South Africa's market-conduct regulator for the financial sector, to support South African students living with a permanent disability who are studying full-time toward an eligible undergraduate qualification. It covers registration and tuition, textbooks, accommodation and meals, a monthly allowance and assistive learning devices for the full duration of the qualification, and includes experiential learning opportunities. Recipients sign a work-back contract with the FSCA proportional to the number of years funded.

Eligibility Requirements
- ✓ South African citizen
- ✓ Living with a permanent disability, confirmed by a letter from a medical doctor
- ✓ Completed Matric or currently in Matric (entering or already in full-time undergraduate study)
- ✓ Studying full-time toward an eligible undergraduate qualification at a recognised South African university or accredited institution
- ✓ Demonstrable financial need (proof of parents'/household income, payslips or affidavit)
- ✓ Submit a motivation letter, certified ID, matric results/certificate, CV and supporting documents
- ✓ Must sign a work-back contract with the FSCA proportional to the number of years funded

- When does the FSCA disabilities bursary close?
- It is an annual programme. The most recently verified closing date was 31 August 2025 for the 2026 academic year. The 2027 round is expected to follow the same cadence, opening around mid-year and closing at the end of August, but no live 2027 posting was confirmed on the FSCA portal at the time of verification, so check fsca.mcidirecthire.com for confirmed dates.
- Is this the same as the FSCA Actuarial Science bursary?
- No. The FSCA also runs a separate FSCA Study Bursary in Actuarial Science (reference ASD 2026), which is applied for distinctly and should not be confused with this disabilities bursary. They are different schemes with different eligibility and application adverts on the FSCA portal.
