Avoid fake status-check methods

There is no verified instruction to text your full ID number to 32147. Do not enter an ID number, bank-card number, PIN or one-time password on a third-party checker. This website explains the process; it does not collect your SASSA details.

How to check SRD R370 status

  1. 1

Open the official SASSA SRD site

Go to srd.sassa.gov.za and use the South African ID-holder section.

Use the applicant's ID number and the cellphone number originally linked to the application.

  4. 4

    Check the correct month

SASSA status-check questions

How do I check my SASSA SRD R370 status?

Use the official SRD website at srd.sassa.gov.za, choose the South African ID-holder section and select Application Status. Enter your 13-digit ID number and the cellphone number used for the application.

How do I check a Child Support, Older Persons or Disability Grant application?

Log in to the official SASSA Services portal. Its home-page table shows active applications linked to your profile and their current status. Status notifications may also be sent to the applicant.

Can I check SASSA status by sending my ID number to 32147?

No official SASSA source supports that instruction. Do not send your ID or card details to an unverified number. Use the official SRD or SASSA Services portal, or call SASSA on 0800 60 10 11.

What should I do if my SRD application was declined?

Read the decline reason for the affected month. If you believe the decision is wrong, use the official DSD SRD appeal portal with the ID number and phone number used for the application.

Does an approved status mean the money is already available?

Not necessarily. Approval, a payment date and an available bank or card balance are different things. Check the payment information shown for the relevant month and then verify the balance through your bank or Postbank.

What is the official SASSA contact number?

SASSA lists the toll-free number 0800 60 10 11 for grant enquiries. Have your ID number and application details ready, but never disclose a card PIN or one-time password.

Independent guide: All Bursaries is not SASSA. Enter your ID or phone number only on an official sassa.gov.za or dsd.gov.za page. Sources were checked on 20 August 2026; follow newer instructions shown in your official account.
