The official page limits contact-detail updates to one request in a 24-hour period. Check the new details carefully before submitting.
How to update your contact details

Open the official DSD page
Go directly to srd.dsd.gov.za/sc19/contact.

Enter your ID number
Type the 13-digit South African ID linked to the application.

Enter your Application ID
Type the six-digit AppID issued on application or reapplication, then submit.

Complete the official prompts
Follow the verification and contact-update instructions shown on the government service.
Protect your application
- Enter your ID and Application ID only on an official government domain.
- Do not pay anyone to “unlock” or speed up a number change.
- Never share a bank PIN, card PIN or one-time password with a helper.
- Do not assume a WhatsApp message or office visit has updated the online SRD record.
Check the update afterwards
Use the registered contact details on the official SRD status service. Do not use a third-party form that asks to store your ID number.

What do I need to change my SRD phone number?
The official contact-update service asks for the applicant’s 13-digit South African ID number and six-digit Application ID issued when the SRD application or reapplication was made.
How often can I submit an SRD contact-change request?
The official page says only one request can be submitted in a 24-hour period. It does not say once per month.
Can I use WhatsApp to change my SRD number?
The current self-service route is the official DSD contact-update page. A help channel may explain the process, but do not assume a WhatsApp conversation changes the number on your application.
What if I do not know my six-digit Application ID?
Check the information SASSA issued when you applied or reapplied. If you still cannot find it, call SASSA on 0800 60 10 11 for help instead of entering guessed details on another website.
Will All Bursaries change my phone number?
No. All Bursaries is an independent guide and does not collect SRD identity or contact details. Submit them only on an official dsd.gov.za or sassa.gov.za page.
