Still holding a Gold Card?

Gold Cards stopped working after 31 August 2026 and Postbank said the deadline would not be extended again. Your grant is still paid into the account; you just cannot draw it until you collect a free Postbank Black Card. Take a valid South African ID or temporary ID to a participating site. Dial *120*355# to locate one.

    Confirm that the grant or monthly SRD decision is active or approved and read any action request.

    Use the balance service for the bank or Postbank account receiving the payment.

What are the next SASSA payment dates for 2026?

The official 2026/27 schedule pays Older Persons, Disability and Children’s grants on separate dates shown in the table on this page. The dates vary by month; there is no fixed “third, fourth and fifth” rule.

Does this schedule include SRD R370 payments?

No. SRD R370 payment information is individual and is shown in the official SRD status result for the relevant month. Use srd.sassa.gov.za with the ID and cellphone number used to apply.

Why is my grant not available on the scheduled date?

First check the application or grant status and the receiving account. For a SASSA grant query call 0800 60 10 11 or visit a SASSA office. For a Postbank card, PIN or account issue call Postbank on 0800 53 54 55.

When does the SASSA Gold Card stop working?

The switch-over deadline was 31 August 2026 and Postbank said it would not be extended. Gold Cards still in use after that date are blocked, but the grant itself is not cancelled: the money is still paid into the account and can be accessed once a free Postbank Black Card has been issued at a participating site with a valid South African ID or temporary ID.

How do I check whether the money is in my account?

Use your receiving bank’s balance service. For an eligible Postbank account, Postbank supports an SMS with BAL plus the last four digits of the account number—not the card number—to 32302 from the registered cellphone.
