  • Must be a registered member of the SASP prior to submitting the application (student membership registration is free at saphysio.co.za)
  • Studying towards a Physiotherapy qualification at a South African university
  • Bursaries are reserved for students entering their 3rd and 4th years of study; not awarded for the first year of study; 1st-year students may in select instances apply for funding towards their 2nd year
  • Strong, satisfactory academic results (latest mid-year and previous end-of-year university results required)
  • Demonstrate financial need by disclosing all other funding sources (salary advice, pay slips, other bursaries)
  • Must remain an SASP member for the duration of study and for a minimum of 2 consecutive years per bursary after graduating, volunteering at SASP events in their region
  • Must be available to participate in a collaborative National Department of Health / SASP project during the community service year
  • Must submit all required supporting documents (incomplete applications are not considered)
