How much does the ADvTECH Student Teacher Bursary cover?

It covers your tuition fees, with the amount linked to your academic performance. Strong-performing students can receive up to full tuition cover, so maintaining good results during your studies is important.

When do applications open and close?

Which fields of study qualify?

The bursary focuses on scarce-skill teaching areas: African Languages (First Additional Language), Early Childhood Development, Foundation Phase teaching, Mathematics teaching and Science teaching. You should be in your 3rd or 4th year of a teaching qualification in one of these fields.

Will I have to work for ADvTECH after I graduate?

The bursary includes a practical work component and paid activities at an ADvTECH (Trinityhouse) school while you study, and successful graduates may be offered a teaching post within the ADvTECH school network. Placements are at selected Trinityhouse schools in Centurion and Roodepoort, Gauteng.
