About the UFH Online Portal

The UFH iEnabler

UFH's online application portal is its ITS iEnabler at ienabler.ufh.ac.za, linked as "Apply Now" and "Online Services" on ufh.ac.za. Applicants who have never applied to UFH use "Apply Here". Applicants who already applied and received a reference or student number must use the "Registered Users" login.

What you do on the portal:

  • • Create your application and your student PIN
  • • Pay the R120 application fee through PayGate
  • • Upload your documents as separate PDFs
  • • Choose up to two academic programmes
  • • Log back in to track your application status

Documents UFH Asks For

UFH lists these as compulsory documents, each uploaded as a separate PDF attachment. If your status shows that something is outstanding, upload it as soon as possible.

  • • Proof of payment of the application fee
  • • Certified copy of your ID
  • • Certified National Senior Certificate, or certified Grade 12 mid-year / June results
  • • Signed guardian consent form if you are under 18
  • • Postgraduate applicants: research concept or proposal where applicable

Track Your Application

View your application and check back regularly, as UFH advises

What the outcome can look like: UFH does not publish a list of the status labels shown on its portal. It does say that applicants who apply with Grade 12 mid-year or June results "may be admitted conditionally", pending their final National Senior Certificate results. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee a place, so check the minimum admission requirements and the APS calculator before you rely on an offer.

UFH Status Check FAQs

How do I check my Fort Hare application status?

Go to ufh.ac.za and click "Apply Now" or "Online Services" to open the UFH iEnabler (https://ienabler.ufh.ac.za/pls/prodi41/w99pkg.mi_login). Use the "Registered Users" login: select Student, enter your student number and the 5-digit PIN you created when you applied, and log in. UFH says you can track your application status by logging into its application portal, and that you should check it regularly for updates.

Can I check my UFH status with my ID number?

The UFH iEnabler login asks for your student number and PIN, not your ID number. UFH says applicants who previously applied and received a reference or student number must use the Registered Users login. If you have lost your student number, click "Forgot Student Number" on the login screen or email [email protected].

When do University of Fort Hare applications for 2027 close?

UFH opened 2027 applications on 1 May 2026. Undergraduate applications close on 31 October 2026, Honours and Master's applications also close on 31 October 2026, and PhD applications close on 31 March 2027. The application fee is R120, paid online through PayGate during the application.

When will UFH tell me if I have been accepted?

UFH has not published a date for admission decisions. Its answer to this question is: "Be sure to check your portal regularly for updates." If you applied with your Grade 12 mid-year or June results, UFH says your admission may be conditional on your final National Senior Certificate results.

How do I reset my UFH iEnabler PIN?

On the UFH iEnabler login screen, click "Forgot Pin" (or "Request A Pin" if you never set one). The PIN is 5 numbers and cannot start with a 0. If you still cannot log in, email [email protected] with your full names and ID number.

Where are the University of Fort Hare campuses?

UFH has three campuses in the Eastern Cape: Alice (the main campus), Bhisho and East London. Admissions offices are at the Alice and East London campuses.
