FASSET Matric Top Achiever Bursary
The FASSET Matric Top Achiever Bursary funds top-performing 2025 matriculants who want to study toward a finance or accounting qualification at a South African public university or university of technology. It is a full-cost bursary administered directly by FASSET, the SETA for the finance and accounting services sector, and targets high achievers from households earning up to R1 million a year.

- ✓ Completed Matric in 2025 (only 2025 matriculants are funded)
- ✓ Minimum overall average of 75% in Matric
- ✓ Passed Mathematics and Accounting in Matric with top results
- ✓ Registered or accepted at a public University or University of Technology in South Africa
- ✓ Total household income not exceeding R1,000,000 per year
- ✓ Intend to study toward a qualification in one of the funded fields

- Who qualifies for the FASSET Matric Top Achiever Bursary?
- You must be a South African citizen who completed Matric in 2025 with an overall average of at least 75% and top results in Mathematics and Accounting. Your household income must not exceed R1,000,000 per year, and you must be accepted at a public university or university of technology to study one of the funded fields.
- When does the bursary close and when will I hear back?
- Applications for the 2026 academic year close on 28 February 2026 at 23:59. Shortlisted or successful candidates are contacted by 15 March 2026. If you have not received feedback by that date, your application was unsuccessful.
- What does the bursary cover?
- The bursary covers tuition fees, prescribed textbooks, an accommodation allowance and a meal allowance, up to a capped amount of R100,000 per year.
- How do I apply?
